Busy, Busy, Busy (Part 2)

Okay, so, I ended my last post right before the most exciting part of the story. 😉 On the night of the concert, Kathleen, my sister and I were talking about the fact that my sisters and two of my brothers were to run in a 5k race the next morning. And Kathleen got this twinkle in her eyes and suggested that we stop by her family’s place after the race, because the venue for the race is like 5 minutes from the B.’s house! 🙂 I told her that we’d keep that in mind, and if we had time, we’d try to stop in for a while. While I may have looked rather sedate outwardly, the truth was I was nearly bursting inside with excitement! =) I had been wanting to visit them for a while, especially being that they live out in the country on 38 acres. 🙂 Anyway, we did end up getting to go do their place, but before I post photos of that, I must post some from the race. 😉

Phoebe, a very determined runner. 🙂

Sadly, this was the only photo I got of Abby running (in the blue shirt). 😦 This was her first 5k to run, and putting that into consideration, she did a great job! — She ran the course in about 30 minutes. 🙂
Image
The race was held on the grounds of a school, hence the school bus.

There was this lovely rose bush growing on the school grounds. And it was early enough in the morning that there was still dew on this rose, so I had to snap a photo. 😉

We departed from the race site and traveled down winding roads that finally led to the B.’s property…All the while breathing in the sweet country air along the way. 🙂

Kathleen’s expression is priceless in this photo, I think. Jaden must have said something funny… 😀
Image
Kathleen and her brother, Jonathan, gave us the grand tour of their property. 🙂 I felt like a little kid again— ambling across dead logs and through the thick, tall grass; care free. I even thought about climbing one of the trees… 😀

The “log cabin” the Jonathan and Elisabeth are starting to build. Looks like fun! =)
Image
There is a swampy area in the woods where in grows a large patch of Spider Lilies. How delightful! =)
Image
Jonathan kindly chauffeured some of us around on their golf-cart. That thing is fun to ride on! 🙂 Yeah, I know, I’m really weird… 😉
Image
The cow pond. 🙂 Sadly, I only saw the cows at a distance— I was kind of hoping to get up close in personal. However, the poor beasts were very sad because their mothers had just been sold the previous day, so I am not sure it would’ve been wise for me to get too close. 😉

Abigail tells Phoebe something about the kitten, Josiah. 🙂 It was so adorable to see them interact. 😉 I love little kids!! =)

As if we hadn’t had enough fun that day, we also attended a small birthday celebration for a friend at Olive Garden. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any good photos inside during the actual party. 😛 — The lighting in there was crummy. However, Phoebe did capture some photos of the group while we waited outside the restaurant. 🙂

The next day, Caleb, Claudia, and Isaac D. came over. 🙂 We spent our time with them by playing “Pictionary” (awesome game, btw), making milkshakes, singing hymns and having Bible study time. 🙂 Some of us also played “baseball”.

Busy, Busy, Busy (Part 1)

Well, it has happened– once again. I have abandoned my blogging duties, and I sincerely apologize. My life has been zooming along at a dizzying speed! But please don’t think I am complaining– it really has been a lot of fun. =)

Since I last blogged, several big things have happened. For one thing, my second oldest brother, Caleb, has gotten engaged to be married to a sweet young lady, Claudia. 🙂 They are to be married in March of next year. It’s so surreal, but very exciting!!! =) The reality of it all is slowly sinking in… but I’m not losing my brother. However, I am gaining a sister! =)

Caleb, Claudia, and Claudia’s good friend, Madeline. 🙂

Caleb and Claudia have asked Phoebe and me to take their engagement photos, but I don’t think we’re going to do them for another few weeks yet. It should be a lot of fun, though!! =)

The four Kautt (or almost) sisters 😉 It’s funny how three of us are matching— Abby was earlier in the day too. 🙂

In other news…. I’ve recently done a couple of impromptu photoshoots– I’ll post those later. 🙂

This past Friday night, my parents, Abby, Jaden and I attended a string ensemble concert, in which my best friend played. 🙂

Visiting
Image
Me and Kathleen (my best friend). ❤ I was SO glad to get to see her (and her family) again after four months!! 🙂

Abby and Mom visiting with Mrs. B. (Kathleen’s mom). 🙂

Dad joined Jaden in playing “basketball” with some of the younger guys there. 🙂 Fun fact: my Dad actually played basketball in highschool and college.

Striped shirts abounded…. 😀
Image
Aw… poor Jaden missed the goal. 😦
Image
My siblings and I think that Mom and Mrs. B. look like they could be sisters. Don’t you agree?! 🙂 I had to get a photo for “proof”. 😉
Image
Little Miss Abigail B. 🙂 Isn’t she darling?!

My family ended up staying at the church (where the concert was held) until around 11pm! 😀 Being that I didn’t go to sleep until like 1 am the following morning, and then woke up at 5:30 am, I only got about 4 1/2 of sleep that night. But, hey, it was totally worth it!!! 🙂 I’d totally do it again, if it means getting to see my best friend for two days in a row. “What do you mean by ‘two days in a row’?” you might ask. Well, that part of the story will have to wait until my next post. 😉
