Girls Night Out, Dad’s New Job, etc.

My oldest sister’s best friend’s family was in town this past weekend for a concert they were performing. Being that our families only see each other about once every one or two years, we jumped at the opportunity of getting together with some of them. This time, it was just Camille W. (Abby’s best friend), Gretchen W. (Camille’s sister), and their cousin Chloe S. 🙂

We went to Starbucks, got some delicious (but not so nutritious :P) drinks, talked and laughed away the night. 🙂

Yes, we laughed a lot, even when discussing serious topics (think theology, education, marriage, history, etc.). 😉

I am in this photo. 😉 That’s me on the far right corner (in the gray cardigan).

After Starbucks closed, we decided we didn’t want to huddle on the Starbucks patio area (outside), so we hopped into the W.’s van and visited for about another hour. 🙂 Then (sadly), it was time for us to leave. 😦 And I think we all agreed that our time spent together— WASN’T LONG ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! 😛 But, the W. family is supposed to be back in this area sometime in January. Maybe we can do another get-together then (I hope). 😉

Some of you may know that my Dad resigned from his pastoral position at a local church back in May. Being that the home we were living in (at that time) was the church parsonage, we thus became “homeless”. Dad’s Mom has graciously taken us in for the past several months (praise God!), which has been such a HUGE blessing. But Dad was still without a job, even though had done several job searches and filled out a few applications. He was getting really discouraged, and funds were running out. We were praying that Dad could get a job soon, even if it was temporary and didn’t pay extremely well. We were desperate for just some source of income. Okay, let me back up (because that makes it sound worse than it was). Two of my siblings (of the ones that live with me) have jobs, as does my Grandma, so we had some financial support there. Long story short, God answered our prayers with a “yes” a few weeks back, by giving Dad a part time temporary job as a UPS driver’s helper. Even though our financial situation isn’t as nice as we’d like for it to be, we are ever so thankful for this job that Dad now has! 🙂

This past Friday, my oldest brother bought an “early” present for my younger brother’s up coming 10th Birthday (which is tomorrow, btw). Anyway, Jaden (my younger brother) was thrilled to discover that the present was a bow and arrow set from Sports Authority. 🙂 He has had fun shooting with it every day since it was given to him. And he’s pretty good at it! 😉 He’s also been so sweet to share it with me and my other siblings. I really have fun trying my hand at it! 🙂 Although, I am nowhere near being a Katniss Everdeen (no, I am not a Hunger Games fan, fyi).

Is it Robin Hood or maybe William Tell? 😉 Whoever it is has shot a bull’s eye. Good job, bub! ❤

On Saturday night, our little “nephew” and “niece” came over (with their parents and Uncle). We enjoyed our time occupying the little ones— letting them run around in the backyard, playing cars with them, taking them on piggy back rides, etc. 🙂

I will “sign off” with a photo from another day with our “nephew” and “niece”. 🙂
