Family Portraits

I am sorry for being AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave) so much lately— I have not been feeling very well for several weeks and have had to miss out on a lot of things, including blogging.

About a week ago, we took family photos. I thought I would share my favorites. πŸ™‚

Who Would’ve Thought… {Outfit Post}

…That dark blue could look great with pink? Certainly not this gal right here! X) But, it happens that I’m wrong every once and a while. πŸ˜‰ And this was one of those times.

A friend recently gave some clothing to my sisters and me, and this top that I’m wearing in the outfit (the blue top, not the pink one under it) was one that she gave us. Anyway, it had a bunch of big, frilly flowers on it– I didn’t much care for them *on* the top (I’ll definitely use them in a craft project though), so I took those off, and there was this cute “rope” design under them. I left that on one side and took it off the other side. It was a quick, easy, and fun refashion project. I love this top now! πŸ˜€

Autumn Polka Dots {eShakti Product Review}

Image

eShakti (www.eshakti.com)Β recently contacted me, and asked me to do another product review (I did one back in February ofΒ this year). Of course, I gave my delighted agreement, andΒ the dressΒ arrived at my door within two weeks.Β Once again, I was very pleased with the custom sizing options— the dress fits me perfectly. πŸ™‚ I also like how this company has a large selection of modest dresses, which you can customize to your standards. One of the pluses about this particular dress is the fact that the waist tie is removable, so I can wear it either as a waist tie/belt or as a headband. πŸ™‚

eShakti offers sizes 0-36W, a whole host of customizing options–stuff like pockets or no, varying dress lengths, sleeve lengths/types, etc.

A big “thank you” to eShakti for honoring me by requesting this product review!! πŸ™‚ Go check them out: www.eshakti.com. πŸ™‚

I loved how this scarf, that I already owned, went perfectly with my lovely polka-dotted dress! πŸ™‚ This will be a new autumn outfit fave!

Some other options to pair with the dress— a brown shrug and I also used the belt as a headband. πŸ™‚

Hello, Dear Old Neglected Blog…

…I’ve missed you, I guess. But then again, I have been almost too busy to miss you! Whatever the case may be, I have not been keeping up with my blogging “duties”, and I apologize.

My life {between the lines} has been anything but dull or monotonous! Since I last posted, I have done a great many things and been a part of many an event. The biggest news of all is, I have moved from TX to OK! I’ve been up here for nearly a month, and I still don’t know what to think about it. I’m delighted that my Dad got a job here, but at the same time, terribly forlorn to have left behind so many dear friends and family members. However, I am sure that God is in this whole situation, and that He will teach my family and myself many a lesson through it. Praise Him!! =)

I recently did a mini photoshoot with my sister, Phoebe, at our new house. πŸ™‚ It was fun, and we got to do our make-up (with the help of our other sister, Abby) and dress in some new dresses of ours. πŸ™‚Β Oh, a side note– I had NEVER seen Phoebe wear eye-shadow or eye-liner before– she isn’t your typical “girlie-girl”. It was a bit of a shock! But a pleasant one. πŸ˜‰

Our church has also had VBS, which you can read more about here. Phoebe blogged about it on our family blog. πŸ™‚

Before we moved, some very dear friends hosted a going away party/gathering for us. I wish I could post photos, but most of the ones we took didn’t turn out very well (because of poor lighting). Fun was had by all (think Pictionary, playing musical instruments, singing, Airsoft guns, etc.), but there was also not a few tear shed. I’m glad we were able to fellowship with some of our peeps before we moved!!! =) Each of them are such a blessing to my family and myself!

My sisters and I had the opportunity to film the sessions at a young ladies retreat. It was a blessing, and I even got to see my best friend and her sister who were also helping with the retreat. πŸ™‚

Our church had a girls sleep over a couple weekends ago. The next day we baked cookies for the firemen and policemen. πŸ™‚ Fun!!

Dad’s brother (Jim) was in town this past week, and so he came up (along with Dad’s mom, our cousin Rachel and Joel) on Friday to see us and celebrate the birthdays of Phoebe and Rachel. πŸ™‚

They came again on Sunday, bringing Rachel’s brother, Jason and his girlfriend (Jessica) along with them. πŸ™‚

Lastnight, we went out to eat at Jason’s Deli (down in TX) to celebrate Phoebe’s birthday. πŸ™‚

After eating and visiting there a while, we headed to see and play with our peeps at our TX ultimate frisbee group. πŸ™‚

And I’ll end with a funny photo. The other day I was doing some craft projects (involving beads) and saw that my beads were somehow arranged in the shape of Africa. πŸ˜€

Yeah, I did tweak it a bit before I snapped a photo– just to make it look a bit more like the real continent. πŸ˜‰

C + C Engagement Photoshoot {Behind the Scenes}

I totally forgot to post behind the scenes photos from Caleb and Claudia’s engagement shoot. Sorry! πŸ˜› I have been extremely busy lately, and blogging is on the to-do list, just not at the top.

Image

Image
While waiting for Caleb and Claudia to change their outfits, Joel, Abby, Phoebe and I took a peek inside this lovely little shop, Fair & Square.Β  Well, it was a little more than a peek.– We ended up buying a few handmade items there– 3 headbands, and a few bracelets. πŸ™‚ They have quite a few up-cycled/re-fashioned things (e.g. leafy earrings made from an old plastic bottle; a coin purse made with coke can tabs; etc.), and as you know, I am huge on that type of creativity! πŸ™‚ I was rather in my prime in that shop, hehe. πŸ™‚

Riding in the back of Caleb’s truck. Don’t worry. This was out in the country, and at a huge park/trail so we were safe. πŸ™‚

While we were at the park, I snapped some photos of Madeline. πŸ™‚

Image

Maddie is: sweet, sarcastic, skilled, a sister, sometimes silly. I’ve been privileged to know her for going on 4 years, I believe. She plays violin in her school orchestra; sings in a choir; and recently started modeling for a Christian organization. In her spare time, she shops, sips Starbucks drinks, and she acts as Caleb and Claudia’s third-wheel. πŸ™‚ Oh, and guess what?! Maddie’s birthday is tomorrow! Please wish her a happy day down in the comments. πŸ™‚

Caleb + Claudia {Engagement Photoshoot}

A couple of weeks ago, my sister Phoebe and I got to shoot our first ever engagement photo session for our brother (Caleb) and his fiancee (Claudia). It was an exciting experience, and I had been planning it for weeks. πŸ™‚ Our shooting locations were a local historic downtown, as well as a large park nearby. Now, without further adieu, here are the photos– I’m posting them in two sections (the first will be ones I took, and the second– ones Phoebe took).
